Chicago hosts 11th International Farosol Conference
The eleventh International Farosol Conference took place in the Windy City of Chicago in May 2025. The conference was a great success and Farosol members from all corners of the world attended, with many extending the trip to stay longer in the United States to see colleagues, friends and family.
The conference was hosted by Newstead Credit & Political Risk in Chicago’s historic Gold Coast neighborhood. Farosol’s newly elected Chairman, Angelo Piazzoli, welcomed everyone to Chicago on behalf of the Board.
Each Farosol member provided updates on developments in their respective home markets, with information on the political situation, sector risks, new insurers and new initiatives. A portion of the conference was devoted to review the increased levels of cross-border cooperation between members which has resulted in problems being solved for clients.
The conference also hosted education sessions for Farosol members with outside expert speakers. Sessions included:
- Tariffs developments and impacts on global markets
- Understanding Creditors’ rights in the US Chapter 11 and 7 bankruptcy process
- Alternative risk solutions to provide cover for distressed credits
In addition to the serious content, Farosol members participated in fun and educational outings in Chicago. Farosol members enjoyed the Chicago Architecture Foundation river cruise, an “Inside Chicago” walking tour of Chicago’s Loop business district as well as evening dinners showcasing Chicago’s food scene.
The next Farosol Internatioanal Conference will be held in Spain in May of 2026.
