10th International Farosol Conference, Rome, May 2024

The tenth International Farosol Conference took place in the eternal city of Rome in May 2024. The event was very well attended, with Farosol members from all corners of the globe being present.

Tributes were paid to the late Roger Gilmore, who was the secretary of Farosol and thanks were also extended to the departing president, Winfried Vogt, who resigned as chairman of Farosol after ten years devoted service. In his place, Angelo Piazzoli, already a member of the Board, was elected to serve as president going forward.

Amongst the topics discussed was one proposing that it should be made easier for new members to join Farosol. Although membership has grown rapidly in recent years, Farosol is always open to representatives from new countries joining the fold and every encouragement will be offered to potential new partners being admitted.

Each participating member provided a ‘State of the Union’ address about his or her domestic market, as well as providing opinions on the current state of underwriting markets and available risk capacity.

Particular thanks must be extended to SACE, the Italian Export Credit Agency, who very generously allowed us the use of their offices for the duration of the conference and also provided key speakers at various times throughout the proceedings.

Finally, it was decided that the host city for the 2025 conference will be Chicago.
